Sreepada Rajam Sharanam Prapadhye !
When my life turned upside down and I was left anguished , I kept saying lord, why so much DISTRESS and MISERY. Little did i know that these words were actually precious, had a deep meaning and marked the divine arrival of Sreepada Sreevallabha.
That night was terrible when I was besides myself. After crying profusely for hours, I went to bed and said ‘Sreepada Sreevallabha’. Being an avid Sai devotee, I had no idea why I took Sreepada's name but today I am so glad I did. I was taken straight to a huge temple with my dad and brother, was frantically looking for Sai Baba and couldn’t find a single idol of his. I came out and stood at the entrance of the temple disappointed. My dad and brother were standing at the entrance door towards my left. Just as I was telling them I couldn’t find baba’s idol inside, I saw on my right - a tall, handsome and young lad walking towards us. He had a flamboyant and feminine walk, just like ardhanareeshwar. He was dressed in orange, had a top bun and was holding a tin pot. While he was walking towards us, I was mesmerized with his lustre. I started shouting look, look Sreepada Sreevallabha and told my brother to bow down and take his blessings. I remember falling on his feet to take his blessings. Sreepada blessed me and gave me a jewel stone. I was supposed to wear it in my neck but I ate it, instead. I looked up to see him and as every divine story or dream goes - he vanished before I even winked. I followed the path from where he came, and found a cell underneath the temple with a huge crowd of devotees. I took my brother along to see what’s happening in the cell underneath. I tried to barge in twice but in vain. Third time lucky, I got in and cleared this massive crowd and then saw a beautiful shiva linga decorated with pink flowers.
I realised that I had to go through trials and tribulations only to find a precious jewel called Sreepada Sreevallabha. In my case, it was my spiritual development or should I say I got a promotion in my spiritual life - from Sai Baba to Sreepada Sreevallabha (though there is no difference in them – both are Datta Avatars).
The mystery behind the words DISTRESS and MISERY - After being blessed by Sreepada in the dream, I started reading Sreepada Sreevallabha Charitaamrutam. I randomly opened the book and read – “Sreepada incarnated to personally save "miserable", oppressed and "distressed" ones”. Isn't this a wonder ?
In tough times, be proud that lord chose you to be his brave soldier as he himself says – I give my best soldiers the hardest battles.
